Possibly our favourite fruit of all, who doesn’t love a great strawberry dessert ? Here at Mèlisses we are huge fans of this versatile fruit.

This week we’ll be sharing one of our favourite recipes of all time. An easy and effortless dessert that combines some of our most loved ingredients together: Greek yogurt, whipped cream, mint and strawberries, could we really think of a better combination ?

YOGURT MOUSSE WITH STRAWBERRIES AND MINT

Ingredients:

  • 150 ml whipping cream

  • 100 grams full fat Greek yogurt*

  • lemon zest

  • 2 tablespoons orange blossom water

  • fresh mint

  • 50 grams sugar

Cut the strawberries into pieces, and place them in a bowl along with the sugar, lemon zest and a tablespoon of orange blossom water (I like adding some fresh lemon blossoms too!). Let the strawberries release their liquid and macerate with those beautiful scents for at least 30 minutes.

For the yogurt mousse, begin by whipping the cream at medium speed, when semi whipped carefully add the Greek yogurt and another tablespoon of orange blossom water. Keep whisking for a few more minutes or until fully whipped.

Spoon the cream into a bowl, add a few strawberries with their juice, add another spoonful of cream and top with the last layer of strawberries. Garnish with fresh mint and serve immediately.

Tip: For extra indulgence you can serve this with a slice of brioche or in our case, Tsoureki!

*I personally never add sugar to my whipped cream, but you can add a tablespoon if you wish. I also recommend using full fat Greek yogurt (it should be extra thick), but if unavailable, you can replace it with mascarpone.
